Infant Child Care Program
“Making the decision to have a child, it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” – Elizabeth Stone
Our infant classroom is designed to allow plenty of opportunity for exploration, and our low teacher-child ratios (3 teachers to 7 infants) facilitate sensitive and responsive relationships. Low shelves give infants independent access to their choice of toys, floor pads cushion young crawlers, climbing lofts build strong bodies and adventurous minds, and sleeping areas with individual cribs ensure restful naps. Age-appropriate infant equipment and manipulative toys enhance motor skills and intellectual curiosity. Infants remain in the same classroom for an entire year, promoting strong attachment with caregivers. Weather permitting, teachers take the children out on buggy rides and spread out blankets on the field to encourage babies to explore their natural surroundings and enjoy the fresh air.
Keeping your baby’s health and well-being in mind, the teachers remove mouth toys to sanitize when the child is no longer interested in that particular toy. We also thoroughly clean all touched surfaces and equipment and air out the classroom when the children and teachers are either outside or in the gross motor auditorium. Teachers and other staff remove their outdoor shoes before entering the classrooms.
